We were about to gut half our house to renovate it as an apartment for my elderly parents, which meant completely clearing out that space. After two interstate moves, my parents still had a full apartment and jam-packed storage unit. Our own barn was at capacity. We needed to fit twice as much stuff into half the space, pronto, and then I wound up on crutches.
For over two years, Taffy has made repeated trips to work on every aspect of this downsizing project, a multigenerational job that also included a gift of her time for my daughter. She developed systems that made sense for us, helped with the parental move, and cleared over 400 boxes of paper out of the storage locker. She assures me that one day we'll even get to the barn.

When I retired last year, I vowed to finally get organized—that was six months ago. While I was considering how to go about that task, friend and fellow scribe Taffy Cannon formed Blue Skies Clutter Control, a one-woman assault on slobs like me, to help us get organized.
Up until last week, my den was unusable because of the piles of books, furniture, electronic equipment and other treasures. Today it looks like something out of House Beautiful magazine, thanks to Taffy.

I felt like I had two tons of disorganized paper weighing me down in my home office and storage room. Taffy taught me what needed to be kept and how to sort my years of accumulation into labeled "toss, donate, shred" boxes plus how to organize my "keeps." Working side by side with Taffy was very enjoyable—my husband laughingly commented that we were having way too much fun!
What a huge weight was lifted from my life!

I had books all over my house and could never find what I wanted. Taffy gathered everything, categorized them, let me decide what to keep and what to donate, and then arranged my shelves in a logical, easy-to-use system. She even set up a special shelf of light reading for my guest bedroom.

Mother was a weaver, a seamstress, and a semi-professional baker, and had accumulated mountains of materials for each of those interests. When she passed away, I had no idea where to start going through her things. Taffy helped make this difficult process manageable, by working with me at my own pace, so that the experience became a tribute to her life.

There were sixty boxes of historical papers, scrapbooks, photographs and financial records in our church attic. Taffy went through all of these, consulting with the appropriate church officials to determine what should be organized and preserved and what could be shredded. The remaining materials were intelligently archived and meticulously labeled in a system that will be easy to maintain and access.
